Hi, Amy. Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, but the system didn't tell me I had a reply. Anyway, I have found what may be the patriarch of this family. There is a Christian A Prange buried in Section Four East of Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery in New Palestine. He died April 17, 1865 at the age of 71. I have checked the 1860 census and there were no Pranges in it, so I will check the 1870 and 1880 and later and see what I can come up with. But I will do it late at night so my computer doesn't tie up the phone line. I will also go to the Library in Greenfield the first part of the week and see what I can find. I graduated from Warren Central High School in Indianapolis in 1962 and there was a David Herman Prange in my class. He now lives in New Palestine and I'm sure he is part of this same family. His father's name was William H and his mother was a Wonnell. There are also a lot of Prange's buried in St John's Cemetery in Cumberland, who I'm sure fit in. But I will get started on this and see what I can come up with. Oh, Emma Prange's last name is PROBABLY Schildmeier. Very large and prominent family from Sugar Creek Township. I will keep you posted. Marlena
