Joseph Prange 1876 - 1940

Hi. I am searching for any information anyone may have on my paternal grandfather, and great grandfather, both named Joseph Prange.

My grandfather, Joseph Prange, was born on Dec. 28, 1876, and died on Sept. 1, 1940. Marriage records say he was born in Germany to father Joseph Prange and mother Anastasia Waltick. I believe he came to the U.S. in 1886, and settled in Michigan. On Oct. 28, 1903 he married my grandmother Mary Miller. They settled in the thumb area of Michigan, which is now Huron County. I know he worked as a section hand for the P.M. Railroad, and as a laborer.

I don't know where he came from, exactly. I don't know anything about his parents, when they were born or died, or were they settled. I don't know if my grandfather had any siblings.

Any scrap of information anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated! It's pretty bad when you can't get past your grandparents when searching the family tree!

Thank you in advance,
Monalee Prange Humesky
