Hmm . . . maybe a match! I have a Matilda Prange (sometimes spells as Pranga) who was born in 1867 in Prussia. She arrived in US in 1887 and lived in Detroit on Pennsylvania St. She was the second wife of a Michael Sroka and married in late 1887 (same year she came to US). One of the witnesses on her marriage records is a "Joseph Prange." I've thought it might be her brother.

The parents of Matilda Prange as listed on the marriage records are William Prange and Annie Filaska.

This Matilda Prange said she was from near Gdansk and talked about Kasub things. But I don't know if she was a Kasub or a Pole living in an area where there were lots of Kasubs.

I also have Julia Prange who shows up as the first wife of this same Michael Sroka. Julia might have been an older sister of Matilda. I think Julia was born about 1856 in Prussia. This Julia died before 1887, but I have not been able to confirm a date.

There are "Prange" listed in the German to America Series and that is where I found my Matilda Prange.

Hope our relatives match up !!!!
