Pranger-Prangley connection

Researching Prangley for many years.
Prangleys in Wiltshire England, from 1600.
I believe the name was originally Pranger but was anglicized.
I would be interested to know where the name Pranger originated in Germany. Was it Prangendorf in northern Germany?
I live in South Wales UK
