MRS. JOHN (ELMIRA SENSE) PRATER

Mrs. John Prater died on Sunday, January 29, after an illness with complication of the grip.
Elmira Emeline Sense was born in Clinton, Summit county, Ohio, December 26, 1854. On February 13, 1873, she united in marriage with John J. Prater and they moved to Charlotte township, Livingston county, Illinois, in 1887. The following year they moved to this city, where they have since resided.
Mrs. Prater was the mother of ten children, three of whom preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband, five daughters and two sons, as follows; Sarah, wife of Elmer Lighty, of Chatsworth township; Jake, of Missouri, Gertie, wife of Lon Heald, of this city; Pearl, Joe, Eva and Bessie, who are still at home. Ten grandchildren, three sisters, three brothers and a host of friends also mourn the loss of a good woman, who was constant in caring and providing for her family. The funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the M.E. church, Rev. Kettelkamp officiating, and the remainds were laid to rest in the Chatsworth cemetery.
