Hi Johni,

Sorry, I made a mistake when writing her first name which was actually Mary Ann. There are so many Elizabeths in this genealogy that I was distracted.

Anyhow, I did progress somewhat since I last wrote, my source being a historian of the Vir (or Vere) family in Quebec City called Guy Vir.

But we still don't know where this Mary Ann Prentice came from. We believe it was from the States.

She Married Peter Vere in Quebec City on Nov 20, 1814.

Peter Vere (s/o Roger and Elizabeth ?), was born on the Isle of Man on July 5, 1789. He and his wife Mary Ann Prentice were both burieed in St. Anselme, Dorchester county (Qc), Peter on Dec. 22, 1870 and Mary Ann on April 16, 1874.

Roger Vere had been with the Royal Fusilliers as of 1785 and arrived in Quebec in 1791.

So if you have more on this Mary Ann, it sure would be interesting to know.

Thanks any way,
