American Serviceman stationed around East Anglia

Hi,

I'm trying to trace my who father's father was. My father's name is Robin Derek Prentice.

On my Father's birth certificate (27th August 1942) his father is written as "Robert Prentice - Haulage Contractor" however it's thought that this person could have been in either the British or American armed services/flight groups based in/around East Anglia.

My Grandmother's name was Doris Halls. To this day no-one in the family knows and unfortunately anyone who might have know has passed away.

Can anyone help shead any light?

Thanks and best regards,

Steve
