Thank you so much for your response re Sally Prentiss. Yes, Olive Rose Ayers who married William Alvinza Perry was my great grandmother. Their oldest daughter, Theresa Sarah Perry of Barre VT, married Merton Lincoln Cheney and were my paternal grandparents. I used to go to all the Perry reunions in Plainfield. My father's sister says she remembers Sally and has some handwork Sallie made.
I would love to have copies of Sally Prentiss' letters and would be happy to reimburse you for any expense in reproducing them. How are you related and what can you tell me about this family?
Sally died in Barre at the home of Olive Rose and William Perry. She is buried in Center Cemetery near the Perry homestead which is still in the family. I have a picture of Olive, William and family and Sally at their home in Barre. This home eventually became a dormitory for the Barre hospital where my sister took her nurses training. She came down the stairs for graduation where her grandmother came down to be married.
