Prescott, Fallin, Taylor
There is a LeRoy Taylor in the 1860 Coffee Co., Elba, Al. He is 65 years old. His wife Jane is 63. They have taken in a little boy, George Prescoat (Prescott) aged 5 in that census. In 1870 George Prescott, age 15, is living with or near Waight Taylor 44. In 1875 George Prescott goes to Crenshaw Co. Al. and marries Sarah Rachel Rhodes. G.H. Taylor and M Gilchrist sign the marriage license. Who is this G.H. Taylor? Why did LeRoy take George in when he was five years old. The Prescott family was from S.C. also. Were they kin to the Taylor family? George and Sarah's first child was Sarah Malissa born about 1877 in Al. Now here comes a second Taylor family, Moses, who has a daughter by the name of Rhoda Ann Catherine. She marries William Crockett Fallin. Their son Major Lewis Fallin marries Sarah Mallisa Prescott, daughter of George W. Prescott and Sarah Rachel Rhodes. Is there a kin ship to these families? It has been hard to sort all this out. Any help would be appreciated. Oh, I forgot to say that George Prescott's mother was Hannah Prescott who was living in the HH of Isaac and Hannah Prescott in the Coffee Co. census in 1850. In the 1860 Coffee Co. census the older Hannah Prescott has the three older children of the young Hannah. This young Hannah died soon after George was born as did Isaac. Does anyone know who the father to these four Prescott children was????? Thanks for any information on any of these folks. Ruby Prescott
