My husband, Marvin Prest recently passed away, and I would love to put together some history for my children. I have little bits and pieces such as William Prest came from England and married a Native Canadian woman and had a large number of children. Somewhere down the line, one of the daughters or granddaughters married a Kelly (sp?) and her daughter gave birth (at approx 15 and unmarried) to my father-in-law Clifford Prest. Clifford's mother apparently went on a fishing boat to make some money, and died (or was murdered) -- so didn't come back. Not sure why the Kelly family didn't keep Clifford with them, somehow he went to a family member in the US, and then Sam Prest adopted him and Clifford came back to the Chilliwack area.
This story could be WAY off base, but it's the only one we know, we did meet a few Prest family members at reunion in Hope in 1995 -- hoping someone out there can lend me a hand.
