MARY PRESTWOOD - abt. 1760
Other family links I'm looking for connected to ROBINS are:
BELL (John f./d. Eliz.) , BRADLEY (Samuel), PRESTWOOD (Mary), SIMPSON (Thomas f./d. Allie) OR HORGER (Rachel)
I am looking for informaton on (birth date/place, parents, ect.) for THOMAS ROBINS and STEPHEN HARNAGE SR. (d.1719 VA).
STEPHEN HARNAGE had 4 children: STEPHEN JR., JACOB (who married Ann Pigot), MARGARET and GEORGE (who married Mary).
GEORGE I beilive is my GGGGG Grandfather, as the previous records I have show him married to a MARY (no last name). They had a daughter SARAH (1750-1798) who married my GGGG Grandfather and had my GGG Grandfather ELIJAH ROBINS in GA.
I am looking for more info on STEPHEN HARNAGE SR. (died 1714).STEPHEN and (wife unknown) had GEORGE Harnage, who married a MARY (last name unknown) and they had SARAH Harnage.I have Sarah's birthdate at circa 1750 died after 1798.Sarah was married to my ancestor THOMAS ROBINS on Jan 1, 1771.
George Harnage, father to Sarah, was granted 400 acres of land on the south on the south side of Six Runs, Duplin County, NC on Nov 26, 1757.He moved to Georgia in 1761 and applied for 100 acres of land in 1763 and again for 100 acres in 1765.This land was in St. George's Parish.("Robbins and RelantedFamiles of the South", Dicy Elizabeth Herrington, 1981pg. 55)
SARAH AND THOMAS ROBINS had 5 children in GA.and was probably granted land in GA from Sarah's father George, although records indicate that THOMAS was in the Queensborough section of St George's Parish, Georgia in 1769.It was around this time, I believe, that THOMAS and SARAH met.
The ROBINS and HARNAGE'S came from plantation owners in the South and fought in both the American Revolution and the War Between the States. It is said that THOMAS ROBINS died in the Battle of Savanagh in 1779, just 8 years after their marriage.I have more information on their children but am looking for more info prior to 1700 on THOMAS ROBINS' parents, the Harnages and the women who married them.
Any information prior to 1770 would be appreciated.
Thank you
