Hello!
I am trying to find a Price family from Havre De Grace, MD (Harford Co.).
This is what I do know:
James A. PRICE (Sr) was born about 1844 in MD
His wife was Ella (or Ellen) was also born about 1844 in MD
They had the following children (all born in MD):
James A. Jr b. about 1871
John b. about 1873
Mary b. about 1875
Clifford b. 27 July 1876
Henry H b. 1877
Allie b. about 1884
1880 census:
~All above but Allie are listed, as she was not born.
~Another "son" (which I think may not be an actual son, but possibly a nephew, etc.) is also included: William, age 20. This is the only record he shows up on.
1900 census:
~Allie is in the family group, but Clifford and Mary are not.
~Ella is recorded as having given birth to 7 children and all are living.
1910 census (something odd happens with James Sr and Ella):
~James Sr. is widowed and living with Clifford
~Ella, his wife, is also widowed and living with Henry and his brother Frank, who was born about 1871 (same as James Jr)
~Ella is recorded as having given birth to 6 children and all are living
~nothing on any of the other children
1920 census:
~Ella is living with James Jr and Frank (and his wife); ~James Jr. is 50 yrs. old and Frank is 47
~nothing on any of the other children
1930 census:
~Ella is living with John
~nothing on any of the other children
So...I'm a little puzzled by 1910 with both of them being widowed, but both still being alive... Also puzzling is why she now says she only had 6 kids instead of 7.
I am wondering where Frank comes into the picture and who William is.
I would also like to find the next generation back, but am coming up empty handed at the moment.
Anything you may know or shed light on will be greatly appreciated.
