There will be a family reunion for the descendents of the Rev. William Andrew "W.A." Fitzgerald and Mrs. Louisa Jane Dillard-Fitzgerald. The reunion is scheduled for July 16, 17, 18, 2004 at Lake DeGray State Park and Arkadelphia, Arkansas.
W.A. Fitzgerald was born in 1851 in Forsyth County, Georgia, served in the American Indian Wars 1873-1878. He met Louisa Dillard in 1879 in Clark County, Arkansas while on his way to Texas to visit an aunt. They married in 1879. Their children include Fannie (Mrs. Dock Conine and later Mrs. Henry Daniels); Mollie (Mrs. C.E. Hardy, Mrs. Thomas Martin, Mrs. William Martin); Carrie (Mrs. Henry Pride); Callie "Peggy" (Mrs. Fred King Runyan, Mrs. Bert Jordan); Maude (Mrs. Forrest P. Baker); and sons Merrill and James Whitten "J.W." Fitzgerald.
The Rev. W.A. Fitzgerald was a minister in the Methodist Church in Amity, Arkansas for many years. He also had an older brother John Fitzgerald living in Texas. John's wife was either Alwedie or Octavia.
