Prides in Indiana

There seems to be some disconnection with the Pride family line that involve the Woolsey Pride family tree.

I will give my family line up to the point that I know for sure:

Elihue Abel (1853-1923) married Chairty Elizabeth Pride (1858-1914), she was the daughter of Spartan and Sarah (Hancock) Pride.

Spartan Pride (abt 1834-aft 1880) was the son of Benjamin and Catherine (Traylor) Pride. He was married to Sarah Hancock (abt 1833-aft 1880) daugther of Sames D. and Charity (Daily) Hancock. They had the following children:
Charity, Maryette, George W., Charles, and Willard Pride.

Benjamin Pride (abt 1802-bef 1860) married Catherine Traylor and had the following children: Mary (Polly), Burnell, Thomas, Spartan, William, Columbus, and Benjamin F. Pride.

This information was confirmed with census records. But when I try to find out who the parents of Benjamin Pride are that is when it becomes confusing. Of course that is when the census records no longer list members of the family. So then I tried to searching through information on message board, rootsweb family trees and LDS family search....and give different information as to who the parents are and the lineage up ward is.

It sounds like we are related to the Woolsey family that migrated from South Carolina and Virginia area to Pike Co., Indiana.....but everyone gives different and conflicting information.

I would like to sort through the information and be able to connect my family upward....can anyone help me sort through all of this?? I would like to find the right clue so I can further my research in the right direction. Any help would be well appreciated.

You may use the email address listed if you want to contact me privately.

Thanks again, Rosanne
