Sir William Pringle (1551-1611) & his wife, Alison Wallace (1555-1614), were my 12th great grandparents in my mother's paternal lineage. I don't know much about them other than Sir William's father was John B. Pringle (could be Hoppringle or Hop Pringle) born about 1530. His mother was Nicoll Cairncross, born about 1529. I hit a road block when I get to them, but am still digging. John was also from Edinburgh.
William & Alison's daughter, Lady Elizabeth, married Laurence Scott of Harprigg. Their son Thomas had a daughter Katherine who married into the Logan Family. She had a son, William, who had a son, Gilbert. Gilbert's daughter, Margaret, married Robert Martin, from Antrim, Ireland. Their son Robert immigrated to an early colonial New York settlement & married Lydia Foster. Their son Stephen fought in the American Revolutionary War. Probably too much unnecessary subsequent info, but just wanted to show Sir William's decendancy into the Revolutionary War.
Much luck in your search!
