I was told by Alistair Gordon about this site and am so interest to find the Prinsep, Auriol, Becher names. My 3xGt Aunt Mary Anne Becher was a resident at Partis College Bath from 1841 till she died in 1866. I have letters sent to my by the present Burser, one of which mentions those names as referees for Mary Anne. Also I have a letter by her neighbour at the college who was a Miss L. C. Auriol of Norton St Philips b. 1774 She was allied to the Auriols of Clifton and connected with the Earl of Kinnock and Drummond family. She was educated by her Aunt De Visme, mother in law of the then Dr. Drummond, son of the former Arch bishop of York. There is a list of 13 famillies she was associated with, which I will send if you are interested.
Mary Anne Becher was born in Wokingham, 1 of 15 to Joyner Becher and his father was Lionel George Becher who died 1741, after the battle of Cartegena. Eileen.
