Prinsep/Princep Connections to Pattle

I am at present researching a connection between Pattle and Prinsep (and Travers) in or from, Ireland. However, previous to this, we have on our London/India directory of the Pattles, a Henry Thoby Princep (1792-Feb 1878 - died at The Briary, Freshwater, Isle of Wight) married to Sarah Monckton Pattle (dau of James Pattle and Adeline Maria de L'etang) on 14 May 1835, in Calcutta. Sarah was born Aug 16 1816, baptised 15 Dec 1816, Calcutta. She died 15 Dec 1887 in Brighton, England. Their children were Henry Auriol Princep (1836-1913)(he married Lilian Smythe); Valentine Cameron Princep (1838-1904)(he married Florence Leyland); Virginia, born 1848; Alice, born ?, married Charles Henry Gurney - their children were Rachel Anne Gurney (died 1920), Laura Gurney and Henry Edward Gurney. I wonder if this is any help to you?
In the book by Elizabeth French Boyd, "The Bloomsbury Heritage - Their Mothers & Their Aunts" there are several Prinseps mentioned (with a c, not an s). Augusta Prinsep Becher is mentioned (I noted the name in another of the replies to your query), as is Arthur Prinsep, Charles Robert Prinsep, Henry Prinsep, Henry Thoby Prinsep, Sara (nee Pattle) Prinsep and Val Prinsep. I have not yet read this book yet (was able to get it on Interlibrary loan) but will contact you again re these Prinseps.
Best wishes, Mary Pattle Hover
