Karen, One of my husband's ggrandfather's brother's, John Ben Pior, the son of Robert Pior, was born May, 1836 in GA. and married to Mary Frances Lewis, born April 17,1838 in Jacksonville, AL. John Ben Pior family settled in Henderson,Rusk County,TX and a son, John Edmond Pior, was born Sept.11,1861 there. The John Ben Pior family later moved to Oklahoma. I have been in touch with a gggrandson, who still lives there. I have found that my husband's families were originally in Burke County, GA in 1850 and later settled in LA, and then moved on to Texas, settling in various areas. I would love to have a copy of the Andrew Jackson Prior will, as I have not been able to get information as to where the families were prior to Burke County, GA. The Pior name is recorded with numerous spellings, i.e. Prior, Pior, Pryor, etc. I would be happy to share my Pior/Prior genealogy information with you.
