James is quite a common name. Do you have the birthplace for James or Rose? Also you mentioned they were living in Yorkshire; quite another area from the one I am researching.

However, people did move around and I know that many people from villages in Hertfordshire and Essex did emmigrate to Canada in the late 1800s. I will need more information to check any links for you.
