Shannon, found that Dorothy Ransom was most likely m. to the James Proby that is in the 1789 Gloucester Tax records (only Proby there) so that places his death between 1789 and 1794 based on the data that Dorothy Proby m. Daniel Terry just after her father died in 1793. I found Daniel Terry in the 1799 Tax records of Gloucester Co VA. Now I know where my Daniel was after he married Dorothy and before he showed back up in Halifax Co records. As there are not that many Probys in VA at that time period hopefully it will not be too hard to find his parents....yeah right...took my 15 years to get James's name.
