Diana- Do you have the 12 June 1801 Sarah Proby will [It was witnessed by John Gale and it refers to her daughter Polly Gale] and the 15 Oct 1797 William Proby will [it refers to Mary Edney]? They are in the NC State Archives. We printed out copies of both wills from microfilm while we were out at Salt Lake City a couple years ago.

My wife and I are searching for info on Sarah Proby who was b. about 1813 in North Carolina - we think in Elizabeth City, Pasquatank Co. She married John L. Roberts (also b. about 1813 in SC). Their first child Joseph was born in 1834 in NC, and they had six more children - Mary, Matilda, William T., Martha Ann, Hugh/Jahue and Daniel - born in NC before they moved to Conway Co., Arkansas in 1849. Sarah was raised as an orphan we understand, and reportedly had been from a large Quaker family. If you have any info on the Sarah Proby b. 1813, we would LOVE to hear it.
