The really odd thing is that the story I got was this... that some of the family left Budapest for the US others left to go elsewhere and each group had the opportunity to change the spelling of their last name. Not sure who did and who didn't but thre are far more Prokopovich in the world than Prokopovits. My grandmother's name was Ida Kalocsai. My cousin Irene went to great lengths to research the family tree before the move to Hungary and it's been hard. We have a few names but no documentation for proof. WW1 really tore Europe apart.
