I have now found further information for my great-great grandfather, Leonard E. Prothro. His death certificate gives his name as Leonard Erwin Prothro. His father's name is listed as "Bunion" and his mother's as Jennie (maiden name "unknown).

There is a Bunion Prothro born to Joshua and Lucy (Dobbs) Prothro shown on the History of the Prothro's as compiled by Mrs. Pearl Pumphrey (submitted online by Edd Prothro). This information is somewhat confusing as there is a "Bunion" listed twice. I cannot figure out if there was a Bunion born to Joshua Prothro, Sr. AND another to Joshua Prothro Jr??? The 1860 Census shows "Alfred B." under Joshua Prothro. Later, there is an A.B. Prothro that married a Jennie Prothro 10/23/1887 in Sabine Parish Louisiana. Finally, there is an Alfred Bunyan Prothro that died in Rapides Parish Louisiana 10/21/1928. The age matches up for every variation of the name (A.B./Alfred B./and Alfred Bunyan Prothro).

The 1880 census in Allen, Natchitoches, Louisiana shows a Jennie Prothro, with her father "Lenord" Prothro and mother Lucy.

If anyone has any further information in regard to any of this, I would really appreciate it. I'm not sure if I'm on the right track or not.
