HI Peter-great to hear from an eastern seventh cousin!(twice removed-whatever that means...) Anyway, yes, your grandfather(you must be Robert Vincent and Dorothy's son?)Leroy Fletcher Prouty was born 19 Aug 1888 and died Jan 1969 in Longmeadow, Hampden Co., Mass. He married Marie Deseret b. 1885 in Mass. bef. 1917. Wasn't he a forester for the city of Springfield? Anyway, his father was Leroy Prescott Prouty (b. Feb 1860-d?) who m.5 Jun 1887 in Rockland,Caroline E. Dunn b. Dec 1867. Don't know where they died or are buried, know they lived in Rockland up to 1930. Leroy Prescott's parents were Jesse (13 Oct 1817 in Scituate-2 Jul 1861 in Hanson) and Betsey P. Soper (1827-?)Jesse's parents were Jesse(29 Jul 1780in Scituate-14 Jan 1833 in Scituate) and Diadema Hersey Prouty (12 Feb 1784 in Hingham-17 Feb 1830. They married on 5 Dec 1802 in Hingham.Jesse remarried to Elizabeth Thayer Gannett on 10 Apr 1831. (No children with her) Jesse's father was William JR 25 Jul 1730 Scituate-11 My 1801) and Rachel Dunbar 22 My 1742 Hingham-19 Jan 1806. William Jr's parents were William Sr 30 Jan 1694/95 Scituate to died aft 17 Apr 1761, and Elizabeth Garnett b. unk-died bef 1733. William's parents were Richard and Damaris Torrey Prouty of Scituate-Richard was the first Prouty in America. If you will email me directly I can print you a document that will have all the details.
