Asher T. Prouty of OH and IA

I am a THOMPSON descendant. My line is: Mary Agnes THOMPSON married Tirus PROUTY. Their son Anson Tirus PROUTY married Elizabeth HELMS Carroll. Their son Asher Thompson PROUTY married either Clara or Alice McGill. I think.

I am confused about Asher Thompson PROUTY's wife? Was she Clara McGILL or Alice McGill? Or neither of them? According to the 1860 Newton, Jasper, IA census, they are sisters, but which one married Asher PROUTY?
I have several marriage dates for both of them...both in Iowa.

Three children were born to Asher and his wife Alice/Clara: 1. Henry Clay, b. Mar 1862; 2. Jay b. Aug 1863 and 3. Lillie May b. Nov 1864, all born in Iowa.

My interest is with Lillie May PROUTY, who married Homer Byron STOUT on 27 Mar 1882, in Iowa. Homer b. 1853, in PA; d. 1923 in PA. They had 2 sons: 1. Howard Merrel b. 1884, and 2. Homer Byron, Jr. b. 1888, both in IA.

Can anyone verify this information? I gladly share information. Thanks for your help. Helen
