Frederick Provan / Provian / Proven

Hi All. I am looking for any information that can be had on a Frederick Lyman PROVAN. He married Almena MCDERMOTT in 1913 in Maine.

Frederick was a minister and travel across country. Almena died in Kansas in 1918 and her mother transported her body back to Maine for burial. I have a copy of her obituary and it lists 6 children.

I am in the process of moving and don't have all of my information with me.

They had 2 sons Newell and (I can't remember the other one) and several daughters. Marjorie Sybil Provan is my grandmother and one of their children. I have been able to find out that the children were split up amongst the relatives. I have a copy of a letter that Marjorie wrote trying to obtain a copy of a delayed birth certificate to a Nell PITMAN, in which Nell wrote back stating, " We were very fond of the 5 year old little girl that came to live with us for 2 years." Nell PITMAN later married an ex-governor of Kansas a Jonathan McMillian DAVIS.

I have looked at the soundex for Kansas for 1920 with no luck in finding these children or Frederick.

The sons of Frederick and Almena are also not listed on the Social Security Death Index.

Any help locating any information would be greatly appreciated.
