I am researching the Provan family from Stirling, Scotland. David Provan, born 1737 and Janet Cowan, Born 1741, Fintry. The line I follow is son William 18-09-1763, who married Margaret Melvin in Falkirk in 1781. They had 5 children that I found. David 1782,John 1784, Peter 1787, William 1790, Andrew 1793. The line I am following starts with David marrying Sophia Thompson and had 13 children and living in Glasgow. If it helps they were all Nail and Rivit Makers. If this helps all Provan researchers, and can help me with living relatives I will be very grateful. Tom
