Wondering if this is my ancestors in "The Frontiersmen" I believe it is and this is why. This story tells a history of the Frontier and Pioneer life in the Ohio River Valley. It talks of two brothers, Raphael and John Mahon and a John Provance who owns a Pub Cabin where these three meet. All taking place 1771-1773.

For 10 pounds per 100 acres - to John Mahan 300 acres in Greene County on both sides of Lick Creek, Adjointing George Hallmark, John Province, Richard Chaswell at Kinston, 20 Sept. 1787.
Page 85, Feb. 4, 1791 James Province, of Greene CO. and Western Terr. South of Ohio, and Ben Goodin of the Terr. 120 pounds pd. 600 acres adj. James Mahan on a draft of Lick Creek that empies in Snoddy's camp, and the war path. Any in put would be appreciated. Pat Norman
