It's been some years since I've looked at the family history, and in recent years, many of you have claimed Thomas Provance/Province as John William's father. I never felt convinced 40 years ago that the evidence was strong enough to link the two as father-son, but maybe I'm not aware of recent discoveries of records that make the case stronger. Those of you who feel strongly that they are father-son, convince me. I'm not arguing with you, I just need to be brought up-to-date.
Also, the same applies to the two Davids: I'm descended from David, the younger; Is there evidence that confirms that he is the son of David, son of Joseph Yard Provance? I know the dates are reasonable, but have any family records turned up to link the two as father-son?
Hope I'm not reopening any old controversies.
My best to all my cousins,
