This has been a very frustrating subject for several people in the Barnard family as I think that if we knew John W. Barnard's father it would lead us directly to England as the Barnard genealogy is pretty well documented from Timothy Barnard back. There was also another Timothy Barnard in the Mississippi Territory about the same time who was from Scotland and married a Native American (YeguaTribe). Their son was Timpoochee Barnard who was an Indian Chief and somewhat famous. I don't believe with all the name similarities that he is in our family line. I do know someone had to have known and had a family bible which documented the info. I just don't know if that is lost or in the possession of someone who we don't know about or that has no contact with the internet . I would love to find any info to amswer the question. I don't know if there are original documents in Alabama that are in a courthouse or archives that would answer it or if there are newspaper s from back then with an obituary somewhere. I am in Texas so I am at a disadvantage. Where are you located?
