Lovey Provence and James Smith.

Until a couple of days ago, I did not even know of the existence of the name Province,or Provence. My maternal grandmother was Teresa Erwin,a daughter of John Fletcher Erwin and Elizabeth Smith. In the 1870's, they were married in Jackson Co., Alabama. Elizabeth Smith was a daughter of Eli Smith and his wife Martha McCutchen. Eli was a son of James Smith and Lovey Province, whose name is variously spelled in the few records which I have seen. Of course, I am interested in learning the names of Lovey Provence's parents, and in becoming acquainted with any Smith, Erwin, Provence and McCutchen relatives.
