Robert M. Pruitt (1836-1911)
Posted by: Patrick Barnum (ID *****0671) Date: December 16, 2011 at 10:08:57
  of 1640

Robert M. Pruitt (1836-1911) was long thought to be a son of Elisha Pruitt/Prewet/Pruet (1801-aft 1880) and Beersheba Jones (1798-aft 1870). However, recent research proves that their son was actually Robert N. Pruitt (b. 1833). Thus, a new search must be made for the real parents of Robert M. Pruitt.
A possibility is Robert Prewit (b. bet 1801 and 1810) who was enumerated in the 1840 US Census for Bledsoe county, Tennessee with a son under five years of age. Robert M. Pruitt was born in 1836 in Bledsoe county and would have been four years old in 1840.
Any information that might help to prove or disprove this connection would be greatly appreciated.
