Hello,
I am looking for information on Margaret C Pruett daughter of Micajah Pruett / Prewitt and Parmelia Hammons. Margaret was born in Illinois in June of 1858. She gave birth to my great grandfather William Wilbur Pruett in 1882 in Vandalia, Fayette, Illinois. I am not sure who William Wilbur's father was. I am not sure if Margaret got married and divorced. The exact circumstance of William Wilbur's birth is somewhat a mystery. I haven't been able to find a birth certificate for him. I am wondering if he was born with a different name and his mother changed his surname to Pruett after a divorce, or if Margaret didn't know the father of William. Later on Margaret went on to marry a man by the name of Alfred C Simmons in Macon County Illinois 12.23.1883. She had three children with Alfred. Their names where Edward (Eddie) , Bess, and Maude. If anyone happens to know the father of William Wilbur Pruett, it would be greatly appreciated. Also, and information on Margaret and her parents would also be greatly appreciated. I would love to finally know who the father of William Wilbur Pruett actually was.
