Ruby, I am descendent of Elijah Pruett of Caroline County, VA. We have no proof that Uriah was Elijah's brother because the "will" records for this county were destroyed during the Civil War, but it is possibe he may have been Elijah's brother along with Moses Pruett. Uriah Pruett paid taxes in Caroline County until 1805 and then he disappeared. Uriah or his family didn't show up in the Caroline 1810 Census records.

Since we have the paternal DNA of Elijah's Pruett's line in Caroline, there is one way to find out if Uriah was Elijah's brother. A living male descendent of Uriah could be tested by marker test) to prove if he was Elijah's brother.

The Family Group A on the Pruett/Pruitt/Prewitt DNA Project is made up of members who have Elijah's DNA.
