Sandee: Hi! Yes, we are distant cousins. I am originally from Oglesby, IL. In fact, Maclare Pryde was my Sunday School teacher and very instrumental in my life. I've been told by my aunt's cousin that your Janet Morrison was actually the daughter of Mary Magnall, sister to my great grandfather. I can verify that for you the next time I talk to my aunt. Robert was their brother. There also were other siblings: Thomas Pryde, William Pryde, Archie Pryde, Fannie Connors, and my great-grandfather, James, Jr. Janet Morrison was my grandmother's first cousin, and I probably met her at one time or another. Did she have a daughter who is married to Henry Moore? The Prydes were a very close family, especially the girls. One of the streets in Oglesby is named Magnall Avenue, and I know the Pryde family grew up on or around that street. There are still quite a few of our relatives in Oglesby. My aunts and alot of my cousins still live there, and we are close. If you have any questions about the family, I'd be glad to share with you. I have traced James Pryde and Janet McClair or McLare back to the registration district of Dalziel, in Lanarkshire, Scotland. Eve Pryde-Roberts, who is on the genforum board, looked up some info. for me in Scotland and was able to locate them and 5 children living there in May, 1860. I have a picture of my great great grandmother, Janet McClare Pryde. My aunt has all sorts of pictures that belonged to my grandmother, and I'm pretty sure there are some that are marked "Aunt Mary Magnall". If you know anyone or ever come in contact with anyone who knows any more about the family, please contact me. Unfortunately, my grandmother passed away about 5 years ago, before I became interested in the family history. I've found the best way to get information if contact relatives. Keep in touch. Sue
