Starting Sept. 5, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum
message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles
will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will
no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.
My grandfather and uncles were stone cutters from Kilkeel, County Down, Ireland, who came to New York about 1900 - 1907. Some, including my grandfather, eventually moved on to Nova Scotia. Others returned to Ireland to enlist in WWI, and lost their lives. Still others stayed in the US, Maryland, I think, but we've long since lost track. The family in Ireland, USA and Canada all spelled their names, at various times as Pugh, Pue and Pues. My grandfather's Birth Certificate definitely seems to read Pues, which I always chocked up to an error on the part of the record taker, for the family always referred to itself as either Pue, or Pugh.
