Starting Sept. 30, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum
message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles
will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will
no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.
My lineage in the US goes back to Johann Ludwig Puett (later changed to John Pitt) who came from the Stettin, Poland area on July 28, 1853 in New York aboard the Flying Dutchman. He was born March 2, 1827, youngest of 7 children. Parents were Johann Daniel Putt and Dorothea Sophia Pagel. The other six children were named with the last name of Putt, don't know if spelling were changed for those that came to the US, or even those that stayed behind.
Other children from this family, Maria Christina, Dorothea Elisabeth, Dorathea Maria Christina, Gottlieb Friedrich, Charlotta Maria Carolina, and Friederike Marie.
John eventually settled in Kewascum, WI. He married Dorathea Degner in 1853 and remarried Anna Paulina Petrie somewhere around 1892. We had our 50th annual family reunion on Aug. 5, 2001. Any help in finding ancestors of the brothers and sisters of John in the US or anywhere else would be very exciting and appreciated.
