I don't know the origin, but it is sure interesting to hear of a man nicknamed "Pink" isn't it.
I have no Pinks in my family line, but there are Pinks in different areas, like in Illinois, near,..."Pinckneyville".

Have you tried posting to the NC Caldwell Co. list to find out if someone knows.
