Evelyn

Chancellor Livingston "Chauncy" Puffer, was born 6 Mar 1853, Clyde, NY; d. 3 Jan 1924, Plainfield, MI; m. 20 Feb 1877 Delphine Agnes "Della" Gilbert at Fairgrove, MI. She is the daughter of William and Elizabeth Gilbert. She was born 1861, Canada. He m. 2nd Carrie Wilkie on 2 Jul 1884, Bay County, MI. Carrie was born Feb 1867, Mecklenburg, Germany.

The Livingston name comes from his mother's name Margaret C. Livingstone. It was his son, Lyman, who changed his name from Puffer to Livingston, presumably because he was not able to get along with his step-mother Carrie (so the family-lore goes). He also changed his name from Lyman to Albert.

Hope this helps

Dave
GS9 of George Puffer
