I was at the Lynnfield (MA) public library today in their genealogy room and confirmed the following via the vital records books through 1850 that exist for MA towns:

Joseph Bradford Foster and Mary E. Puffer "of Monson" filed intention to marry at Palmer 13 MAR 1848. (found in the Palmer book)

They were actually married in Monson on 5 APR 1848. He was listed as "age 25", she as "age 18" engaged in "domestic affairs".

I'm still trying to figure out where the information about the clothing store and their daughter Ella came from. What is the "Puffer" book?

Does anyone have information on Joseph's or Mary E.'s date and place of death?
