William H. Pullen, Jr., was born 1 March 1845 in Illinois (don't know where, yet). He moved with his parents in 1858 to TX and in 1861 joined the TX Cavalry. In 1865 he ws discharged, with his father, W. H. Sr, paying for a debt he owed to the military (a horse and saddle, I think). William Jr then went to the 320 acres his father owned in Ellis County, Texas (Waxahachie is County Seat). Shortly after that his father left with new wife, Sara Autrey, and children of his first wife, Polly A. Pullen, to go to Arkansas (Huntsville, Madison County, AR)
In 1866 Jr. md Harriet J Cross of IL and in 1867 returned to IL. My notes say Coles County, not sure whwether he married there or they returned to Cole County. In 1872 moved to Pawnee, NE, 1880 to Coos County, OR. In 1881 Harriet dies on 21 Jan (date yet to be documented). Not wasting any time, that same year he md again to a Ms Lucinda Whetstone, in 1882 moved to Jackson County, OR, 1883 to Coos Bay, OR and in 1888 to Wallowa County, OR (Lostine). In 1892 they moved to Paradise, Wallowa County, OR. My notes say they owned land in Roseburg County, but there is no date listed. In 1897 he moved to Malheur County, OR and in 1900 appointed County Assessor and renominated for County ASsessor in 1902.
From there, my trail goes cold.
I hope this is of some value to you. I have very little information on his father, William H. Pullen, Sr., who I am researching now trying to get back to Jr's grandparents.
