I'm not surprised you've not found anything on the native connection. I grew up hearing stories about our native American roots. Turns out they were just that - stories. No truth to them. I understand this is quite common. Our ancestors used to entertain their children around the fire about native roots. They were just made up stories for entertainment but children grew up remembering them and passed them on. Good luck with your research. Wish I could be more helpful.
