Thanks, Jim, for letting me know. I am aware of the Pulliams in the area of Stokes Co. because another line of my family comes from there. I have the book "Rockingham Co., NC, Will abstracts 1785-1865" from Southern Press.
Stokes is Rockingham's neighbor to the west.
On page 79:
page 380 of will book James H. Pulliam. Not dated. Prb August 1863, wife Sally W. Pulliam. My lawful heirs. Exr: Orson Martin. Wit: W.R. Strong, James Cobler.

There may be a connection between James H. of Rockingham and William H. of Stokes.
