Grace Pulliam Cain committed suicide in Tacoma, WA on October 22, 1917 from gas inhalation. She was an active member of the Tacoma Chapter of the UDC and contributed to their publication, Confederate Journal. She is also said to have written children's stories but I have no confirmation on that.

I am writing a biography of her son, Harry Pulliam Cain, former mayor of Tacoma and U. S. Senator.

I am very interested in obtaining more information about her family, particularly her father, Henry Clay Pulliam, who I have as being born 29 Nov. 1830 in Kentucky.

I am also interested in finding out more about her husband, George William Cain, who lived and worked in Nashville prior to moving to Tacoma in 1910.
