Hi Petra, thanks for replying so promptly - my son's paternal g mother, Lilian, appears to be your mother's first cousin. Her father Francis Bernard moved to Qld and married Margaret Lawrence in 1912, settled in Atherton and had at least 4 children that I know of (Robert, Lilian, Fred & Margaret). I have the foll certificates: Birth for Francis Bernhardt & Julia Marian, Marriage for Rudolph & Mary Fuhrman, Death for Anna Maria & Rudolph plus her father & uncle , Sebastian & Conrad Fuhrmann plus the NSW archives file for Rudolph's naturalisation. When do you think he migrated to Australia & what info have you got on possibly coming via US. Could he have worked his way out here if he was not a paying passenger? Could he have been brought out as a "job lot" like his father-in-law who was brought out here with a lot of other "vine dressers"?
