I was browsing on ebay and found an unusual photo up for auction. I thought I would post about it, as it struck my eye. Perhaps some ancestor would like to have it.
The girl's name is Mattie Pulver. The person who is auctioning it off thinks it is a girl born in 1863, which it could be. Here what they say about it and a link:
This is a nice old CDV/Cabinet photo of a young woman identified as Mattie Pulver. It was taken at W. A. Contant Studio in Williamson, Wayne County, New York and probably dates to about 1880. Old census records reveal that she was born about 1863, the daughter of Robert and Ellen (or Helen) Pulver who lived in the town of Sodus. She had siblings named Hattie, Jay, Arthur, Belle and Blanche. The image is clear but fading. See scan.
But I found other census records to indicate it is also likely a girl named Mattie Pulver, born to a William and Mary Pulver July 1880 in Ontario, Wayne County, New York.
I look on ebay all the time for photos of my ancestors. I would love to see some of these old photos matched up with their ancestors!
