I have not come across any info yet on a Peter Pulver b. in 1771. But, you maybe able to start by looking in Pine Plains, N.Y. Peter Wendell b. 1708 d. 1794 and his wife Susannah Drom (sp) b. 1715 d. 1790 are suppose to still have head stone in a small cemetary there. Supposedly a small grave yard still exists where once an Old Red Church constructed by German reformers in 1772 on the Pulver farm. Good luck in looking.
