Dora Punch/Margaret Ponsonby-Limerick Co

In 1888, my grandmother, Mary Anne O'Shaughnessy immigrated from County Limerick
to Gilman, Illinois. She lived with her Aunt
Margaret Ponsonby Ennis for about 4 years.
During this period about 200 letters were
exchanged. Mary Anne's mother had a maiden name of Punch, but her sisters maiden name
was Ponsonby. I am looking for information
on the Punch/Ponsonby Family from Ireland.
Help appreciated. Margaret Ponsonby Ennis was born about 1828 and Dora Punch O'Shaughnessy was born about 1830. They each referred to one another as "Dear Sister"
and I believe they were probably half sisters. All help would be appreciated.
