Very much so....
The Boston and Lowell, Boston and Providence, and Boston and Worcester railroads radiated from the metropolis to towns no more than 45 miles away. In 1835, when all were operating, Boston became the world’s first rail hub.
My great grandfather came from IRE and also worked the rails : ).
