Hi Caroline
thank you for your reply - would love to know more about Capt Thomas Punch and how he may fit in with our line here - glad to exchange information that I have - I am descended through the line of Capt John Greenway Punch and his son Thomas Hubert.

As an aside Thomas Hubert Punch had at his wedding in 1893 a Thomas Punch as a witness. I have tried finding out who this Thomas is without success - I though that he may have been a cousin from NZ - Joseph Pierce Punch was there at Invercargill (brother to John Greenway Punch). Thomas may have been a brother of John Greenway but I thought maybe he was a younger person - perhaps the same generation as Thomas who was getting married.

There is also a notation in a diary of a Thomas Punch and the fact that it was the last time they saw him. Once again not sure who this is - it is not John's son.

Capt John Punch and his wife Mary made several trips back to Ireland as a number of their children were born there.

I look forward to hearing from you
